Responsibilities:
Summary The Mental Health Technician works under the supervision of the Psychologist to assist with monitoring compliance regarding treatment requirements, timely completion of evaluations of inmates in the Restrictive Housing Unit and ensuring that inmates on suicide watch and those discontinued from suicide watch are seen timely by a licensed Mental Health Professional.
Assists the Psychologist or other licensed Mental Health Professionals with completing any necessary clerical tasks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provides oversight of the daily schedule ensuring all mental health appointments are evaluated by the proper health care provider.
The Mental Health Technician maintains confidentiality of patient records.
Coordinates communication within the department by e-mail, phones, and face to face to ensure patient care is delivery by appropriate health care providers.
Maintains a database monitoring compliance regarding follow-up treatment and completion of documentation such as Individualized Service Plans, Consent forms, and Biopsychosocial Assessments.
Monitors inmates on suicide watch and those discontinued from suicide watch to ensure that they are seen timely by a licensed Mental Health Professional.
Monitors observation checklist completed by security staff for suicide watch to ensure that it is completed properly and immediately reports any discrepancies in writing to the Psychologist and Health Services Administrator.
The Mental Health Technician maintains a request/referral log to ensure that inmates are seen timely by a licensed Mental Health Professional after having submitted a request or having been referred by staff.
Ensures that there is timely follow-up by a licensed mental health professional after any uses of force with S-2 or S-3 inmates.
Maintains database to ensure that inmates are seen timely by psychiatry and works closely with the psychiatric nurse to identify any inmates who require a medication order from the psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner so that medications do not expire.
Promotes effective communication with patients and team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in the Behavioral Health industry.
Mental Health or Compliance experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in office procedures and related clerical duties.
Ability to use a computers and spreadsheets to monitor and update databases.
Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group settings.
Ability to work well with others within a team and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions; to make minor decisions in accordance with rules and regulations as they apply to work problems; to maintain company records; and to meet and deal effectively with the public and inmates.
Pay:
Pay USD $25.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
